Miss Queen Portugal is a national beauty pageant in Portugal. It is responsible for selecting the country's representative to Miss Earth, which is an annual international beauty pageant promoting environmental awareness. ==History== Miss Queen Portugal was held for the first time in 2013, at Caminha a beautiful North Portugal town where Solange Duarte, from Ovar, the first Beauty Queen ever elected Miss Queen Portugal, succeeding Susana Nogueira as Miss Earth Portuguese representative. Susana Nogueira nominated by Miss Queen Portugal Organizing Committee member, to represent Portugal at Miss Earth 2011 in Philippines and finished as one of the Top 16 semifinalists. Miss Queen Portugal Organization, whose main legacy are environmental causes, following Miss Earth Foundation, which annually celebrates the defense and promotion of an environmental cause, instituted by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
